ABNER - Abner is in his yound 20's. He is a woodworker. He is projected to be the next teacher for the classes to aid Dieulange. He handmade a jewelry box for me the day I left as a thank-you. Haitian people are very giving and try to return any favor that has been imparted to them.

CHEDELINE: Chedeline is the sole surviving member of her family. Her parents died of what we think was disease instead of disaster. She currently lives with two widows in St. Michael's Village in Plaisance. She is one of the oldest children in this village, ergo assuming the role of babysitter for the younger children while parents are at work or doing chores.

SANTILUS: Santilus plays the kompa drum at church on weekends for masses. He is very interested in musical theory and counterpoint and has an amazing ear so that he is quite able to improvise.

ALOUIDOR: Alouidor is the youngest student in the class. He has picked up piano very quickly and helps other students in class.
